     ANDA partners with YouthFront, Argentine Betterment Corporation(the local NBR), and the neighborhood groups in the Argentine area to organize the activities for Serve Day every Spring.  ANDA’s staff meets with the NBR Executive Director and the community leaders prior to the event to gather the list of projects that need to be done.   Approximately 200 people volunteer to participate in this annual special event.


HERE IS WHAT WE WORKED ON

  • Clean and Sweep “downtown” retail area on Strong Avenue
  • Clean empty lots so volunteer mowers can keep them neat
  • Spring yard cleaning for elderly residents
  • Clean out illegal dumping in several sites
  • Clean out alleys

     The improvement of the area was amazing but the most important outcome was the interaction between the community residents and the volunteers.
